PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation column allowing the passage of a liquid therethrough at a low pressure while holding ion resolution for use in an ion chromatography device.SOLUTION: The separation column for an ion chromatography device is filled with an organic porous ion exchanger. The organic porous ion exchanger is of a continuous macro-pore structure where bubble-like macro-pores overlap with each other and such overlapping portions form openings of 0.01 to 300 μm in average diameter in a water-wet state. The total pore volume is 0.5 to 5 ml/g while ion-exchange capacity per volume in the water-wet state is 0.01 to 5 mg equivalence/ml. Ion-exchange groups are uniformly distributed in the porous ion exchanger. In a SEM image of a section of the continuous macro-pore structure (dry body), the area of a skeleton appearing on the section is 25 to 50% of an image domain.
