PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an influence of ambient light and causes an additional function corresponding to a displayed image to be operated accurately.SOLUTION: A display device includes: an input/output unit 11 that inputs an image signal; projection systems 13 to 17 that project an image based on the image signal inputted in the input/output unit 11; an illuminance sensor 26 that detects illuminance of ambient light from the outside and an A/D converter 27; and a CPU 18 that introduces a control signal for performing specific operation in an image so as to be projected by the projection systems 13 to 17, determines periodicity of change of illuminance of ambient light from a detection result by the illuminance sensor 26 and the A/D converter 27, and adjusts a period of introducing the control signal in the image projected by the projection systems 13 to 17 according to a result of the determination.
