In a window frame formed from elongate members E1, E2, E3 comprising an interior metal core having a plurality of apertures and interior layers of synthetic resin (P.V.C.) welded together through the apertures, the synthetic resin of the mitre cut joints is welded together under heat and pressure and may be reinforced by wires covered with synthetic resin. E3 is the main frame and E1-E2 form a sash, the part E1 having a flange 14' and the part E2 having a flange 14, which when the parts E1-E2 are brought together overlaps the flange 14' and the two flanges are secured by a screw, the part E2 also having a flange 12 which engages a groove in the complementary part El. The synthetic resin covering has recesses and abutments on the profiles to provide a seal-tight window and has a gap in the flange 14' for insertion of a seal beading 15 of foam material. |
