PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylonitrile-based fiber having excellent radiation shielding effect, that can solve the problems of the prior art in which radiation shielding effects were obtained by using barium sulfate and fibers containing barium sulfate, and the like, were known and in particular a large quantity of barium stearate was added in order to obtain radiation shielding effect, by such as strengthening fiber strength, thinning the fineness of fiber, or simplifying the production process.SOLUTION: A radiation shielding acrylonitrile-based fiber contains acrylonitrile-based polymer and barium sulfate fine particles having an average diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 μm. |
