In a hose reel and support therefor, the hose reel can rotate on a bearing in a water-supply fitting forming part of the support, the inner end of the hose being connected to the fitting. The water-supply fitting 15 comprises an elbow pipe having a transverse lug 16 at the outer corner, said lug providing means to mount the reel on a wall bracket 11. The downwardly projecting arm 17 of the elbow pipe is connected to a water-supply as by a length of flexible hose; the horizontally projecting arm 18 is internally threaded for the reception of an externally threaded bush 30. The bush 30 receives a self-lubricating bush 31 in watertight engagement. The hose reel comprises two discs 35, each having a plurality of spokes 37 bent to form the hose receiving surface; the two discs being bolted together. Also bolted to the discs is an elbow pipe fitting 34, each arm of the elbow pipe having secured therein a pipe 42, 32 respectively. The pipe 42 is connected to the inner end of the hose on the reel; the pipe 32 forms the spindle of the hose reel and passes rotatably through the bush 31 in water-tight engagement. The hose reel is mounted on the wall bracket 11 and maintained in position by means of a lug 21 on the downwardly projecting arm 17 of the elbow fitting 15. The lug 21 passes between two bosses provided on the wall bracket 11 and is prevented from rotation about the lug 16 by means of a spring clip. The hose reel is capable of rotation while water is supplied under pressure to the hose through the fitting 15.</p> |
