1,090,028. Inductors. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 16, 1966, No. 21548/66. Heading H1T. Movement of ferrite adjuster slug 21 by rotation of the threaded screw 20 of adjuster 12, which at its lower end co-operates with bush or nut 23, varies the reluctance of air gap 19 between the halves 10 and 11 of a ferrite magnetic core. Bush 23 is preferably of a polyamide material which permits it, if initially unthreaded and of slightly smaller internal diameter than the over-threads diameter of screw 20, to deform when the screw 20 is inserted into it and so provide a complementary thread form. It is secured in bore 13 by an epoxy resin mass 24 and extensions of this mass 33, linking bore 13 and formed during the moulding operation which produced mass 24 and bonded it to bush 23, prevent slug 21 from contacting the wall of bore 13. Bush 23 is preferably of a non-circular outline, suitably hexagonal, so as to key with mass 24 and resist rotation.
|
