The present invention relates to a portable monitoring device (1) in the form of a suitcase comprising an openable housing, at least one removable detector unit (10) comprising a sensor arranged to detect a safety event, a space (11) for storing the detector unit inside the suitcase, and an electronic unit in communication with the detector unit. The detector unit includes a rechargeable battery and the suitcase is designed so that the battery can be recharged automatically when the detector unit is stored in said space in the suitcase. |
