The method involves detecting and determining the actuation frequency of the soft keys (3a) for deactivating the vehicle dynamic function (7), and detecting an operating state of the vehicle (1) as deactivating condition guiding for deactivation of the vehicle dynamic function by actuation of the soft key. The soft key is provided on a display and operating unit (2) with occurrence of the deactivating condition independent of the menu level, if the actuation frequency exceeds a predetermined threshold value. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a computer program for storing in a computer readable medium for deactivating a vehicle dynamic function of a vehicle; and (2) a control unit for deactivating a vehicle dynamic function of a vehicle.
