PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a first-order differential value and second-order differential value of a function while suppressing occurrence of an error.SOLUTION: A function f(a+&egr;+&egr;) is calculated on the basis of an input function f(x) of one variable and a value (x=a) of the variable x (100). Then, a coefficient of &egr;or &egr;in the calculated function f(a+&egr;+&egr;) is extracted as a first-order differential value f'(a) at x=a, and a coefficient of &egr;*&egr;in the function f(a+&egr;+&egr;) is extracted as a second-order differential value f''(a) at x=a (102 and 104).
