PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoist for an elevator which receives a load of a fixed iron core to reduce a load of an attachment bolt thereby achieving downsizing of the entire dimension.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic brake device 20 is located obliquely above a brake drum 11. The electromagnetic brake device 20 includes: a lining 24; a movable iron core 22 which the lining 24 is attached through a brake shoe 25; a fixed iron core 21 which attracts the movable iron core 22; a spring part 27 which biases the movable iron core 22 toward the brake drum 11 side so as to separate the movable iron core 22 from the fixed iron core 21; and an attachment bolt 23 for attaching the fixed iron core 22 to a brake housing part 10A. A contact part 10B which contacts with a predetermined region L2 positioned at the opposite side of the movable iron core 22 from among a side surface of the fixed iron core 21 is provided at the brake housing part 10A. |
