PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a smoother glass substrate for an information recording medium including a step of griding by use of slurry including colloidal silica, and a manufacturing method of a magnetic disk.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a glass substrate that sequentially includes the steps of: griding glass by use of a cerium-based polishing agent; washing the glass by use of a cleaning fluid including a heated sulfuric acid and a hydrogen peroxide solution; and grinding a principal surface of the glass by use of the slurry including the colloidal silica, and specifically relates to a manufacturing method of a glass substrate for an information recording medium in which a straight chain saturated dicarboxylic acid is included in the slurry. |
