The method involves providing a primary masonry (18) with a floor slab (12) resting upon in a spacing to a lateral edge (24) of primary masonry so that a clearance gap is formed between the lateral edge and the floor slab. Several sandwich elements (26) are arranged along an edge of a cover plate in the clearance gap. Each sandwich element is provided with several supporting layers (16) and an insulating layer (14) so that a secondary masonry (20) is supported partially against the primary masonry on the floor slab by the supporting layers.
