PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a cylindrical battery with a collector plate, suppressing reactive current generated in welding a collector plate to an electrode plate side end part projecting from a spiral electrode group, thereby capable of sufficiently enhancing weld strength between the collector plate and the electrode plate side end part; and a method for manufacturing the cylindrical battery.SOLUTION: A cylindrical battery includes a spiral electrode group 12 including a positive electrode 121 and a negative electrode 122 spirally wound via a separator 123, and collector plates 15, 16 are welded to side ends 18 of the positive electrode 121 or the negative electrode 122 projecting from the spiral electrode group 12. The collector plates 15, 16 have a principal plane with a nearly circle shape welded to the side ends 18 of the positive electrode 121 or the negative electrode 122, and the principal plane has a notch 155 with a fan-like form opening from the center toward the outer periphery. |
