The exhaust system assembly has an active noise reduction device (1) which is arranged in exhaust line (2). The active noise reduction device is provided with cell rotor housing (4) and a rotary cell rotor which is arranged in cell rotor housing such that partial stream of exhaust gas is introduced into cell rotor. The exhaust gas stream with phase shift of sound wave length is again supplied to partial stream in cell by rotation of cell rotor. An independent claim is included for a method for operating active noise reduction device in exhaust line of engine.
