The heavy-duty transport vehicle (10) has a chassis (14) that is provided with a load support bed (16) that comprises supporting surface for supporting a transportable main load (12) e.g. tower segment of wind turbine. The load-bearing bed is exclusively connected with chassis through a hydraulic cylinder (30). The load-bearing bed is raised with respect to the chassis by synchronous driving of piston rods of hydraulic cylinder.
