TITANIA HOLLOW NANOPARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow particle comprising a titania shell that is produced without need of complicated processes and apparatus, has an easily controlled shape and has a nano-sized particle size.SOLUTION: The hollow nanoparticle comprising a titania shell has a particle size of 100-800 nm and a shell thickness of 30-100 nm. The hollow nanoparticle comprising the titania shell is produced by mixing a titanium alkoxide and distilled water in a dispersion prepared by dispersing a surfactant and a calcium carbonate particle in an organic solvent, coating the surface of the calcium carbonate particle with titania and then removing the calcium carbonate particle and the surfactant present in the inside of the titania coated particle.
