The honing system (20) has a tool head (24) rotatable around a rotational axis (36) and having an interface for detachable fixing at a rotating driven machine spindle (12) of a machine tool and a honing tool (26) whose honledges are adjustable over a tool-sided adjustment mechanism (42) transverse to the rotational axis. The tool head has a drive unit for actuating the adjustment mechanism. The drive unit is provided with a servomotor. The adjustment mechanism has a pressure-pull-rod (72) linearly movable in the direction of the rotational axis.
