PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel input device capable of suppressing the occurrence of errors in touch detection when a user performs touch operation to a touch panel by a finger or a pen, so as to allow reliable touch input.SOLUTION: A touch panel input device includes a plurality of electrodes X and Y arranged along a screen of a touch panel 100 that is operated by contact of a finger M or a pen P. The electrodes X and Y detect a change in capacitance when the finger or the pen approaches the touch panel 100 to detect a proximity position of the finger or the pen. Depending on whether or not the capacitance level detected by the electrodes exceeds a preset threshold at the detected proximity position of the finger or the pen, the presence of contact of the finger or the pen is determined. According to the detected proximity position of the finger or the pen, the threshold is changeably set. |
