PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit that can prevent corrosion of a metal thin film in a vicinity of a contact hole, in an image display device using a gate line driving circuit for an active matrix. SOLUTION: The image display device includes a transparent electrode 270 that is formed on a frame area PA1 outside a display area DA and has prescribed potential supplied from an array substrate 100. The transparent electrode 270 is formed so as to cover a gate line driving circuit 160 on a surface facing the array substrate 100 on a color filter substrate 200.
