<p>A power measurement system comprises a sensor 18 and a system manager 26. The sensor 18 is arranged to detect the waveform of the current in a connection 12 and to transmit the detected current waveform and timing information for the current waveform. The system manager 26 is arranged to receive the detected current waveform and timing information for the current waveform, detect the waveform of the voltage in a network 16, and preferably determine the magnitude (as a real power measurement) and direction of the energy flow in the connection 12 from the detected current waveform in the connection 12 and the detected voltage waveform in the network 16.</p> |
