The present invention provides a functional dried persimmon, which is characterized in that red bean powder fermented with Monascus purpureus is attached to the surface of a dried persimmon or a piece of a dried persimmon. The dried persimmon according to the present invention has improved functionalities including a cholesterol lowering activity, an anti-oxidation activity or an anti-bacteria activity as red bean powder fermented with Monascus purpureus is coated on the surface thereof. As such, the dried persimmon according to the present invention is able to be used as functional food or a food additive for preventing or alleviating lipid related metabolic diseases such as fatty liver, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, cardio vascular diseases, atherosclerosis and lipid related metabolic syndrome, constipation, obesity and pathogen infection, in particular, to be specified as processed food in various types such as a dried persimmon, sliced dried persimmons, and dried persimmon wrap, and to contribute the increase of the farmer income. |
