A system is provided for panoptic visualization (100) of document having a structure defined according to a specific format. The system includes a document parser (202), a colligater (204), and a layout engine (308). The document parser (202) is configured to decompose electronic document into a plurality of components including respective media content. The colligater (204) is configured to combine pages providing metadata for each of a plurality of pages. The metadata identifies a link between a page and at least one another page and the link establishes a logical relationship between each page according to a structure of the document. The layout engine (308) is configured to generate the layout of a page of the document consequently. In relation to this, the layout includes a panoptic array of visual expression of a page of a layout according to related metadata of each page.
