PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing GDF-15 expresion or activation regulator is provided to suppress tyrosinase activation and melanin generation and to effectively treat melasma or vitiligo. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for preventing or treating melasma contains a GDF-15(growth differentiation factor-15) expression or activation inhibitor as an active ingredient. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating vitiligo contains GDF-15 as an active ingredient. A method for controlling melagnogenesis comprises a step of suppressing or enhancing GDF-15 expression. |
