PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to be notified whether or not a recording format of image data set currently matches with a recording format of image data transferred automatically by a recording medium with a radio communication function.SOLUTION: A video camera records image data obtained by an imaging element 102 imaging a subject onto a recording medium. The video camera obtains a recording format of image data transferred automatically by a memory card with a radio communication function connected with it, and also obtains a recording format of image data set to the video camera to record the image data onto the recording medium. It then compares the obtained formats and gives notice depending on the comparison.
