PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external combustion engine in which power is efficiently taken out by speedily heating and cooling gas and reducing an energy loss caused by mechanical friction resistance in the external combustion engine.SOLUTION: Two gas cylinders in the same semicircular and cylindrical shape are provided in accordance with a difference between right-handed and left-handed manners and while being fitted vertically. The gas cylinders are rotated between a heater and a cooler, thereby speedily repeating heating and cooling of gas within the gas cylinders. The gas cylinder is structured to perform rotational motion, thereby reducing mechanical friction resistance. An output unit and an output plug are provided for taking out a pressure difference generated within the gas cylinders as power. The output plug is provided within the output unit and operated by receiving pressure sent from the gas cylinder. A power lever is fixed to the output plug. The power lever performs semicircular inversion motion simultaneously with the output plug. A stop pawl is provided to limit the motion of the power lever in one direction, the output unit is rotated and the output unit, the gas cylinders and components connected and fixed thereto are rotated as a whole, thereby obtaining power. |
