PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which water supply from the outside is unnecessary during starting and also after starting.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system according to the present invention comprises: modified gas creation means 4 for creating a modified gas G5 containing hydrogen from a raw fuel gas G1 by a partial oxidation reaction or a steam modification reaction using a modification catalyst; a solid oxide type fuel cell (SOFC) 8 using as fuel the modified gas G5 created by the modified gas creation means 4; anode off-gas supply lines L8 and L11 for connecting the SOFC 8 and the modified gas creation means 4 to supply an anode-off gas G7 including steam exhausted from an anode 8a of the SOFC 8 to the modified gas creation means 4; oxygen-contained gas supply means 3 for supplying an oxygen-contained gas G2 to the modified gas creation means 4; and control means 13, in which the control means 13 controls the oxygen-contained gas supply means 3 so that the supply of the oxygen-contained gas G2 is begun during stating of the fuel cell system 1 and the supply of the oxygen-contained gas G2 is terminated at a predetermined time point. |
