PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen separator which can reduce a gas leak in the hydrogen separator.SOLUTION: In a hydrogen separator (1), a dense layer (17) is formed on a ceramic support body (9) so as to cover an exposed portion (15) of an interface (13) and so as to extend over a porous support part (5) and a dense support part (7), and a hydrogen separation metal layer (21) is formed so as to come in contact with the dense layer (17) and so as to cover a surface of the porous support part (5). Specifically, the dense layer (17) is projected toward the porous support part (5) side from the dense support part (7) along the surface of the porous support part (5).
