摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric spark ignition direct-injection engine which is enabled to reduce various losses and to improve an exhaust emission performance by making it possible to introduce an EGR gas as much as possible into a cylinder 18 in a partial load region of a low-speed region.SOLUTION: A controller (PCM 10) introduces an exhaust gas into a cylinder 18 to raise the pressure of a fuel to a high combustion pressure of 30 MPa or higher, when the running state of an engine body 1 is in a partial load region of a low-speed region, performs a fuel injection for a time period at least from a final stage of a compression stroke to an initial stage of an expansion stroke, and drives an ignition plug 25 within 3 mill-seconds after the end of the fuel injection from the start of the fuel injection so that a retarded injection combustion for a spark ignition of a mixture is performed in a mixture.
