PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means capable of removing air bubbles existing between a substrate and a fluororesin tube in a short time.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing a fixing roller or fixing belt that includes a substrate having an elastic body layer in the outermost layer and a fluororesin tube for coating the substrate. The method includes the steps of: inserting the substrate into a hollow of the fluororesin tube; filling, into a clearance existing between the substrate and the fluororesin tube, gas whose gas transmittance to the elastic body layer is higher than that of air; and making the fluororesin tube coat the substrate. |
