PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial flow rotating machine, a stationary blade ring of the axial flow rotating machine and an assembling method of the stationary blade ring which reduces labor in an exchanging construction of the stationary blade ring.SOLUTION: An upstream side surface 24 and a downstream side surface 25 which are arranged in a rotor axial direction Da are formed on a blade ring attaching part 23 of a passenger compartment 20. A stationary blade ring 30 includes: a plurality of stationary blades 32 arranged in a circumferential direction Dc around a rotor shaft; an annular blade root ring 34 which connects radial outer sides of the plurality of stationary blades; an upstream side liner 44 arranged between the blade root ring 34 and the upstream side surface 24 of the blade ring attaching part 23; a downstream side liner 45 arranged between the blade root ring 34 and the downstream side surface 25 of the blade ring attaching part 23; and a liner holding ring 41 attached to the blade root ring 34 while being held between the downstream side liner 45 and the blade root ring 34.
