VEHICLE POWER SOURCE DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further expand opportunities for idling stop while securing minimum voltage of power storage means.SOLUTION: A vehicle power source device comprises: power generation means (2) which generates power by getting driving force from an engine 1 of a vehicle with an idling stop function; and power storage means (3) which stores the power generated by the power generation means. The power storage means (3) supplies an electric load 4 mounted on the vehicle with the power while the engine 1 is stopped by idling stop. After the engine 1 stopped, the same is restarted when voltage of the power storage means (3) falls short of a predetermined lower limit. The engine 1 is stopped again upon satisfaction of a specific condition in which the voltage of the power storage means (3) through a restart of the engine can be determined to be recovered sufficiently.
