The tool (1) has two blade holders (2, 3) arranged in a gripper beak that is formed by upper and lower gripping jaws. One of the holders has multiple blade lamellae (4, 5) with cutting edges, where the lamellae lie next to each other. The cutting edges lie next to each other and form a profile adapted to the cross section of a wire to be stripped by supporting the blade lamellae on blade cushions (6, 7), which are adjustably and rotatably supported in the holders. The cushions have a slot on one of front sides of the cushions.
