Process and device for separating off at least one volatile component, for example mercury, from the off-gases (1) in cement clinker production, wherein the raw materials (10) for cement clinker production are passed through a preheater (2) with heat exchange with the off-gases (1) and are then burnt in a rotary kiln (3), wherein, owing to the heating of the raw materials (10) in the preheater (2), the volatile component bound in the raw materials (10) is vaporized and separated off. A first raw material stream (18) having a relatively high concentration of the volatile component is applied to a first line (14) of the preheater (2) and a second raw material stream (20) having a lower concentration of the volatile component is applied to a second line (16) of the preheater (2). The volatile component is separated off from the first substream (13) of the off-gases (1). The first raw material stream (18) heated to a temperature of at least 250°C by heat exchange with the first substream (13) of the off-gases(1) in the first line (14) of the preheater (2) is, at substantially constant temperature of at least 250°C, combined with the second raw material stream (20) of the second line (16) of the preheater (2).
|
