SYSTEMS AND METHODS RELATED TO ABLATION AND CLEANING DURING MANUFACTURE OF RADIO-FREQUENCY MODULES

Disclosed are systems and methods related to removal of materials and cleaning during manufacture of radio-frequency (RF) modules. Such modules can be manufactured in an array on a panel, and an overmold structure can be formed on the panel. In some situations, a surface of the overmold can be ablated, and the ablated panel can be cleaned. In some embodiments, an ablation system can include an exposed transport section that moves the panel through a blasting region, and an input or output transport section that cooperates with, but is separate from, the exposed transport section. In some embodiments, a cleaning system can include a belt transport apparatus having a mesh that engages a relatively delicate surface of the panel. The mesh can include a coating configured to reduce the likelihood of damage to the delicate surface of the panel and to provide desired electrostatic discharge protection for the panel.
