The device (1) has a wall (10) i.e. pipe wall, provided with a surface (11), where a convex-shaped element (20) is formed in the surface of the wall. The convex-shaped element comprises a cross section area (22) extending vertical to a plane of the surface of the wall and a highest point (21) that extends through a sectional plane. The sectional plane is limited by an arc shaped edge (23) and an edge (24) that is attached to the arc shaped edge. The arc shaped edge is designed as a tangent line, and the edge passes as a tangent into the surface of the wall. The arc shaped edge is designed as an arcuate edge. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a heat carrier (2) method for transferring heat from a fluid to another fluid or vice-versa.
