PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a regenerative cushion device enabling elevation while holding a cushion pad horizontally, even when a portion of components constituting a linear drive unit falls into failure, and capable of continuing the operation of the entire press machine, and to provide a method of operating the same in failure.SOLUTION: Four linear drive units 20 and four hydraulic pressure cylinders 30 are provided to support four corners of a cushion pad 7, respectively. When a portion of components constituting the linear drive units 20 falls into failure, a control device 40 controls a driving resistance in minimum by bringing an inoperative linear drive unit 20A and a linear drive unit 20C positioned in the diagonal position with this into a non-use state during elevation of the cushion pad, and controls the driving resistance in minimum by bringing only the inoperative linear drive unit 20A into the non-use state during sliding down. |
