PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably correct skew even for thick recording paper in a switchback-type recording apparatus.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus includes a separable conveyance roller pair 1 for conveying recording paper P with the recording paper P nipped therebetween, a paper discharge unit 11 for the recording paper P, recording means 7, positioned between the conveyance roller pair 1 and the paper discharge unit 11, for performing recording on the recording paper P, and conveyance means 8 for conveying the recording paper P in a first conveyance direction D1 from the paper discharge unit 11 via the conveyance roller pair 1. The recording apparatus further includes skew correction means 2 for correcting skew of the recording paper P when the recording paper P is conveyed in the first conveyance direction D1. The skew correction means 2 includes an abutment surface 2 extending in a direction perpendicular to the first conveyance direction D1 and a second conveyance direction D2. The abutment surface 2 corrects the skew of the recording paper P when a leading edge Pa of the recording paper P in the first conveyance direction D1 abuts thereon, and retreats from a conveyance surface S of the recording paper P after the leading edge Pa abuts thereon. |
