The present invention relates to a device and a method for setting optimal temperature for a heating furnace. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for setting optimal temperature for furnace comprises: a modeling part for modeling the variation characteristics of predictive furnace temperatures in each zone relative to the set furnace temperature as a formula model by analyzing the history based on the current set furnace temperature, the measured furnace temperature of a heating furnace, and the temperature of materials; a variable determination part for variably determining the searching range of the set furnace temperature based on the history; and an optimal set temperature determination part for putting the set furnace temperature varied within the variably determined searching range in the formula model, calculating the predictive furnace temperature relative to each set furnace temperature using the formula model, and determining the set furnace temperature corresponding to the predictive furnace temperature closest to the target temperature of the materials among the calculated predicted furnace temperatures.
