A textile machine has drafting rollers (2) with a number of belt-driven pulley wheels driving machine parts e.g. the drafting rollers (30, 31, 32). On the contact surface the belts have longitudinal ribs that engage with corresponding outer surface grooves in the pulley wheel. - The belt cross sectional profile has one or more grooves that are wedge-shaped.
