A method for controlling the fuel gauge speed of a vehicle is disclosed. According to the present invention, the invention is capable of exactly indicating the fuel consumption amount as a fuel gauge moves down at the same speed with the fuel consumption amount by setting fuel consumption amount at more than standard value and by comparing the fuel gauge indicating the fuel amount to the fuel amount that is actually consumed when the vehicle comes up the uphill road. As the fuel gauge gradually rises when the fuel is injected during the engine operation comparing to the increase amount of the fuel, the fuel injection amount is not exactly indicated. The invention is to accurately indicate the existing fuel gauge by indicating the gauge of the stored fuel when an engine starts after saving the fuel gauge indicating the amount of fuel left in a fuel tank when the engine is off.
