Edge connector contacts 3, which are housed in recesses on opposite sides of a central channel in an insulating body 2, are inserted from the rear of the body 2 after their connection to lead wires, each contact having an outer limb with a lance 6 which snap-fits over a shoulder 7 in the body, and an inner contact-making limb 5. A lance may be provided on each inner limb 5 for engaging a shoulder (not shown) on the central partition of the body 2. Preferably, each contact comprises two superposed layers (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) bonded together at their rear ends 4 and defining a pair of independently movable inner limbs (5a, 5b) which may be of the same or different lengths. The contacts may be of copper alloy coated with a noble metal.
