<p>The casting process comprises supplying a groove (3) of a rotatable wheel (2) with molten metal (6), and cooling the metal placed in the groove by rotation. The cooling step is carried out in a unit for preventing the formation of air between a metal strip (4) and a metal closure placed in the groove during a solidification phase. The preventing unit comprises a solid member to exert pressure on the metal strip to press the metal strip placed in the groove. The solid member includes a roller (7). The roller includes a cylindrical part. The casting process comprises supplying a groove (3) of a rotatable wheel (2) with molten metal (6), and cooling the metal placed in the groove by rotation. The outer lateral surface comes into contact with the metal strip. The roller is arranged around the rotatable wheel. The cooling step is performed by spraying water on the metal strip and the closure walls. The groove has a trapezoidal cross section. The roller is moved along the groove against the metal closure.
