The method involves geometrically defining components (C1, C2) and a bonding zone (ZC) in a region of contact zones (ZT) of a pair of surfaces (S1, S2) of the components representative of a screw (V) by a three-dimensional model by finite elements. A contact property associated with each contact zone is defined by biasing the components. Force exerted by the bonding zone is estimated based on the biasing and the contact property. A minimum clamping voltage to be applied to the bonding zone is estimated based on the estimated force. An independent claim is also included for a device for predetermining clamping voltages to be applied to a screw for fastening components.
