A method of making a pressure vessel characterized in that at least one metal wire 14 is helically wound with adjoining turns on the vessel 1, the limit of elasticity of the wire 14 being greater than that of the vessel 1, whereof an internal pressure is exerted inside the vessel which enables the limit of elasticity of the vessel to be exceeded without exceeding that of the wire 14, and lastly the internal pressure is eliminated. The wire can have a circular or rectangular cross-section or be in the form of a ribbon. The ends of the wire are welded, clipped or clamped to the vessel.</p> |
