PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for identifying a modulator of a cell signalling pathway, in particular a method for identifying a modulator of a cell signalling pathway that triggers differentiation in cells.SOLUTION: A method for identifying a modulator of a cell signalling pathway comprises the steps of: (a) providing a cell of a first cell type and differentiating the first cell type to a second cell type via a progenitor cell; (b) inducing the progenitor cell substantially identical to a cell derived from a progenitor cell pool in vitro by sequentially exposing the first cell type to two or more reaction conditions; (c) exposing the induced progenitor cell to a potential modulator; and (d) monitoring the differentiation of the first cell type to determine formation of the second cell type. |
