The invention relates to an artificial sphincter, comprising a hydraulic occlusion device (14) for the controllable occlusion of a urine-conducting vessel (12) in an incontinent patient, characterized by a first electrically driven pump (18) and a second emergency pump (20). The emergency pump (20) pumps the hydraulic fluid when the first pump (18) is not functioning properly. The invention further relates to a method for controlling an artificial sphincter. |
