PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving an oil pump for a two-cycle engine by which air venting of the oil pump can be surely performed while discharge of wasteful oil is reduced as much as possible.SOLUTION: A fixed-volume type pump is used as an oil pump 2 for supplying lubricant oil to an engine 1. In the steady state of the engine, the pulse width of the drive pulse giving the oil pump is set to the pulse width in the steady state more than a regular stroke time, and the driving cycle of the oil pump is set to the cycle in the set steady state and a predetermined amount of the lubricant oil is discharged from the pump. In the first driving of the oil pump 2 performed after a power supply of a control device is established, the pulse width of the drive pulse giving to the oil pump 2 is set to the pulse width at the time of air venting shorter than the regular stroke time and the driving cycle is set as the driving cycle at the time of air venting shorter than the driving cycle in the steady state, and the air venting process for venting the air in the oil pump is made to be performed. |
