<p>When the vehicle speed is a low value below a determination value during the activation of a brake (1) by first brake control, the brake (1) is maintained in the activated state by second brake control. Thus, in a situation such that the accuracy of detection of an object by a sensor (10) is decreased, such as when the vehicle speed is low and the object is at a close distance from the vehicle, the activation of the brake (1) is not terminated on the basis of an erroneous determination, if any, that the object did not exist due to failure of the sensor (10) to detect the object. Accordingly, erroneous termination of the activation of the brake (1) due to the above-described failure of the sensor (10) to detect the object can be avoided.</p> |
