PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of preparing an aqueous aromatic polyurethane dispersion composition, particularly an aqueous aromatic polyurethane dispersion composition that does not include N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) or has a low content of it.SOLUTION: The disclosed aqueous aromatic urethane-acrylic hybrid or composite composition has, at the time of the preparation thereof, a low or zero N-methylpyrrolidone content and generally includes no volatile organic solvents. The use of ethylene glycol monoalkyl ether or propylene glycol monoalkyl ether at the time of the preparation of the dispersion is instructed. The use of a ketone functional oligomer for improving the final dispersion quality is instructed. The use of an acrylate monomer (multiple types permissible) for reducing the prepolymer viscosity is instructed.
