The device (20) has a piezoelectric acceleration sensor (22) i.e. knock sensor, fastened with an adapter (24) at a compressor of an internal combustion engine (10). The adapter includes a resilient clutch (26), and is fastened to the compressor by the clutch that is partly made of acoustic absorbing material e.g. elastomer and plastic material. The adapter is fastened to a compressor inlet (16) and/or a compressor outlet and partially formed in a tubular manner. The adapter is spaced at distance from the compressor, and the clutch is partly formed as a sleeve.
